During the first stage of work visitors will
be restricted to the stones’ floor of the
tower. Later it is likely that normal access
to the windmill tower can be restored.
Admission during this initial period will be
free, but donations welcome. In the barn you
can see the new video which includes the
“human” side of the windmill’s life story.
This summer, on 15th July, there
will be a special Victorian Open Day in
collaboration with nearby Bursledon
Brickworks. So why not visit two good
industrial sites on the same day?
The windmill will be restored to full
working condition by 2014 in time to
celebrate its 200th birthday.
